The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has announced that the winner of the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League will receive GH₵2 million, marking the highest prize money in the competition’s history.
GFA President Kurt Okraku announced during the Association’s 31st Ordinary Congress held at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence in Prampram.
He confirmed that the financial rewards will extend to other top-performing clubs, with the runner-up earning GH₵1 million, the third-placed team GH₵850,000, and the fourth-placed team GH₵750,000.

The historic package comes as part of a wider initiative to strengthen the Premier League. Each of the 18 clubs will receive a minimum of GH₵1 million before the season begins, aimed at improving operations, player welfare, and competitiveness both on and off the pitch.
As part of the logistical boost, the GFA has distributed 540 footballs (30 per club) valued at GH₵310,500 and 540 pairs of boots (30 per club) worth GH₵1.89 million across all participating teams.
Okraku explained that these measures are part of the Association’s long-term vision to professionalise the domestic league and enhance its commercial appeal. The GFA has partnered with Adesa Productions Limited on a commercialisation strategy designed to attract sponsors, improve marketing, and boost revenues from broadcasting and matchdays.
This combined financial and logistical support reflects the GFA’s ambition to build a more sustainable and competitive top-flight league that can thrive both locally and on the global stage.
