The Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA), Maame Efua Houadjeto, has announced plans to build Ghana’s first-ever amusement park in Cape Coast.
She revealed the project during the 2025 Ghana-China Business Summit on June 23, 2025, highlighting new initiatives to position Ghana as a top tourism destination in Africa.
“We want to create the first amusement park in Ghana, and we are looking at Cape Coast. It will be a state-of-the-art facility to boost tourism in the Central Region,” she said.
Maame Efua Houadjeto also urged investors to support eco-friendly lodge development at key sites like Kakum National Park and Mole National Park. Discussions are underway with potential investors interested in these eco-tourism projects.
To further enhance tourism infrastructure, she announced plans to build new event centres in the Central Region and Accra to attract more events.
“We are expanding event centre spaces, planning one in the Central Region and another in Accra,” she added.
