The Convener and Leader of Grassroots for KEN in the Cape Coast North Constituency, Mr. Kingsley Atta Boakye, has described Hon. Kennedy Agyapong, former Member of Parliament for Assin Central, as the best candidate for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to select as its presidential candidate for the 2028 general elections.

According to Mr. Atta Boakye, the NPP is preparing to conduct its presidential primaries on Saturday, 31st January 2026, across the country, a crucial exercise that will determine the party’s direction ahead of the 2028 polls.

He made these remarks while speaking on a community engagement programme dubbed “Coastal Television’s Community Concert”, held at Abura, a sub-community within the Cape Coast Metropolis in the North Constituency.

Addressing party supporters and community members, Mr. Atta Boakye emphasized that although there are five aspirants contesting the NPP presidential slot, Hon. Kennedy Agyapong stands tall among them.

“When it comes to thinking about the grassroots and creating opportunities for the people, Hon. Kennedy Agyapong tops all the candidates,” he stated.

Mr. Atta Boakye noted that Hon. Agyapong has consistently demonstrated a deep commitment to the welfare of ordinary party members and the wider Ghanaian population, particularly through job creation and direct support to the youth.

He further stressed that the NPP needs a candidate who understands the struggles of the grassroots and is willing to take bold decisions to improve livelihoods.

“Hon. Kennedy Agyapong has proven over the years that he is not only vocal but practical. He gives jobs, supports small businesses, and stands with the grassroots. That is why we believe he is the best choice for the NPP in 2028,” he added.

The event at Abura formed part of ongoing grassroots mobilization efforts ahead of the NPP’s upcoming presidential primaries, as party faithful across the country gear up to make what many describe as a defining choice for the party’s future.

AsorbaMedia.com will continue to monitor and report on developments within the NPP as the January 2026 presidential election approaches.
