Renowned media personality Bishop Ato Trustworthy has urged the youth in Cape Coast to move away from what he described as “dirty politics” and instead focus on demanding meaningful development from leaders, particularly in the area of job creation.

Speaking on Coastal Television’s popular morning program, Morning Mix, on Easter Monday, Bishop Ato Trustworthy expressed concern about the growing trend of young people aligning themselves with major political parties such as the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the New Patriotic Party (NPP) without critically considering their long-term future.

According to him, it is worrying that many youths are easily swayed by small monetary inducements, such as GH₵50, which he said offers no real value in securing a stable future. He emphasized that such practices only perpetuate a cycle of dependency and underdevelopment.

Bishop Ato Trustworthy noted that Cape Coast is home to numerous educational institutions that produce graduates every year, yet many of these young people remain unemployed after completing their studies. He stressed that instead of engaging in partisan politics for short-term gains, the youth should channel their energy into holding leaders accountable and advocating for sustainable job opportunities.

He further advised that the future of the youth depends on their ability to think independently and make informed decisions, rather than blindly following political affiliations. He called on them to unite and demand policies that prioritize employment, skills development, and economic growth.

The media personality concluded by encouraging young people to recognize their power as agents of change and to use their voices constructively to shape a better future for themselves and generations to come.
