Accra – Lawyer Charles Walker has called for stronger collaboration among the Government, traditional authorities, and the private sector to unlock the vast economic potential of the Central Region and accelerate its development.

Speaking at the launch of the Fantefest Festival in Accra, Mr. Walker said the Central Region possesses enormous economic opportunities that remain largely underutilized. According to him, coordinated efforts by key stakeholders are essential to transform the region into a major economic hub.

He noted that the region’s strategic location, rich cultural heritage, thriving tourism sector, abundant agricultural resources, and talented youthful population provide a solid foundation for sustainable economic growth and investment.

“The Central Region has all the ingredients needed for economic transformation. What is required is stronger collaboration between Government, traditional authorities, and the private sector to harness these opportunities for the benefit of our people,” he stated.

Mr. Walker explained that strengthening partnerships would help attract investment, create employment opportunities for the youth, promote entrepreneurship, and improve infrastructure across the region.

He also emphasized the importance of preserving and promoting the region’s cultural heritage through initiatives such as the Fantefest Festival, describing the event as an important platform for showcasing the traditions, history, tourism potential, and economic opportunities of the Central Region.

The lawyer encouraged stakeholders to work together to develop policies and initiatives that would enhance tourism, support agriculture, and promote industrial development, thereby improving the livelihoods of residents.

The launch of the Fantefest Festival brought together traditional leaders, government officials, members of the business community, and cultural enthusiasts, who reaffirmed their commitment to promoting the cultural identity and socio-economic development of the Central Region.
