Cape Coast, Central Region – Popular blogger and social media activist, Mr. Joseph Seer Ankomah, widely known as “BOBO,” has clarified that his recent comments regarding the poor state of a road in Cape Coast are not intended to tarnish the image of the Member of Parliament for Cape Coast or the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE).
In a statement posted on his Facebook page, Mr. Ankomah emphasized that his concerns reflect the frustrations of residents across the Central Region, particularly those living in Cape Coast, rather than any personal agenda against political leaders.
According to him, the call for immediate action on the deteriorating road infrastructure aligns with guidance previously given by the Central Regional Minister, who encouraged citizens to hold public officials accountable and push them to perform their duties effectively.
«”This is not about me. Joseph is not trying to make the Member of Parliament for Cape Coast and the MCE unpopular. It is about the concerns of the people in the Central Region, especially residents of Cape Coast,” he stated.»
Mr. Ankomah further noted that the Regional Minister had urged citizens not to wait until election periods before demanding development from their leaders.
He explained that residents are simply acting on that advice by drawing attention to pressing issues affecting their communities.
«”We are not waiting for campaign promises—we want real development now,” he added.»
The social media activist highlighted the poor condition of the road in question, stressing that it requires a complete reconstruction rather than temporary repairs to ensure its durability and long-term benefit to the community.
He maintained that the demand for improved infrastructure is a collective concern shared by many residents and should not be viewed as an individual complaint.
The statement has generated discussions among residents and social media users, with many echoing calls for authorities to prioritize road development and address infrastructure challenges in Cape Coast and other parts of the Central Region.
As public concerns over road conditions continue to grow, residents are hopeful that the relevant authorities will take swift action to improve transportation networks and enhance the quality of life for citizens.
