The Metropolitan Chief Executive (MCE) for the Cape Coast Metropolitan Assembly, Hon. George Justice Arthur, has distributed sanitation tools and equipment to all Assembly Members across the Cape Coast Metropolis in preparation for the upcoming National Clean-Up Exercise.

The distribution, which took place at the Assembly’s designated grounds, forms part of the Assembly’s commitment to promoting environmental cleanliness and ensuring the successful implementation of the nationwide sanitation campaign.

Speaking during the exercise, Hon. George Justice Arthur stressed that every Assembly Member must actively participate in the clean-up campaign and mobilise residents within their electoral areas to join the exercise.
According to the MCE, the provision of the tools and equipment removes every excuse that could prevent Assembly Members from taking part in the exercise.
«”There should be no excuse that there are no tools or equipment. We have provided the necessary items to support the exercise, and I expect every Assembly Member to lead by example and ensure that their communities actively participate in the national clean-up,” he said.»
He further noted that sanitation remains one of the key priorities of the Cape Coast Metropolitan Assembly, adding that maintaining a clean environment is a shared responsibility that requires the collective efforts of Assembly Members, opinion leaders, institutions, and residents.
Hon. George Justice Arthur urged the public to cooperate with their Assembly Members by participating fully in the clean-up exercise to help reduce indiscriminate dumping of refuse, prevent the outbreak of diseases, and improve the overall appearance of the metropolis.
The Assembly Members expressed appreciation to the MCE for the timely support and pledged to use the tools effectively to organise successful clean-up activities in their respective electoral areas.
The National Clean-Up Exercise is expected to bring together residents, traditional leaders, religious organisations, youth groups, and other stakeholders in a united effort to promote a cleaner, healthier, and more sustainable Cape Coast Metropolis.
