Anansi Education, a non-governmental organization (NGO) based at Mempeasem in Cape Coast in the Central Region of Ghana, has distributed provisions and textbooks to 72 Senior High School (SHS) students as part of its ongoing scholarship initiative.

The beneficiaries, made up of Form Two and Form Three students from various senior high schools, received the items at a presentation ceremony held on Saturday, 3rd January 2026.

Speaking at the event, the Managing Director of Anansi Education, Mr. Daniel Osei, emphasized the importance of sustaining the scholarship initiative through hard work and dedication to academic excellence. He urged the students to take their studies seriously and strive for better grades as a way of justifying the support being offered to them.

Mr. Osei, who is also an old student and beneficiary of Anansi Education, noted that the organization was established to support brilliant but needy students to achieve their educational goals. According to him, they selected 36 students across the Central Region every year because, education remains one of the most powerful tools for personal and national development, hence the organization’s commitment to investing in the future of young people.

He further encouraged the beneficiaries to remain disciplined, focused, and determined, stressing that the support provided should motivate them to excel and become responsible citizens who would, in the future, give back to society.

Some of the students expressed their gratitude to Anansi Education for the timely support, noting that the provisions and textbooks would greatly ease the burden on their parents and enhance their academic work.

Anansi Education continues to play a vital role in promoting access to quality education in the Central Region, with plans to expand its scholarship initiative to reach more deserving students in the coming years.
