Two Dead, Thirteen Injured in Kormantse Road Crash

A tragic road accident on the Cape Coast–Accra highway has claimed the lives of two people and left thirteen others injured, including a child and the driver of a Hino truck. The collision involved a Mercedes Benz with registration AS 4146-25 and a Hino truck registered GW 5958-25.

The Mankessim Fire Station received a distress call around 3:50 a.m. on Saturday. Eyewitnesses and passersby helped most of the vehicle occupants escape before the arrival of the Mankessim Fire Rescue Team.

Two killed in road crash at Kormantse on Cape Coast highway

Firefighters later extricated two individuals who were trapped in the wreckage and confirmed dead at the scene.

Authorities, with support from other stakeholders, have cleared the road, which has since reopened to traffic. The cause of the accident is currently under investigation.
