Residents of Kakumdo, a community within the Cape Coast Metropolitan Assembly in the Central Region, are making a passionate appeal to the government, philanthropists, corporate organizations, and well-meaning individuals to urgently support the renovation of the Kakumdo M/A Basic School, which is currently in a deplorable state.

According to community members, the school’s infrastructure has deteriorated significantly over the years, creating an unsafe learning environment for pupils and teachers.

Speaking to Asorba Media, social media activist Saint Akapo expressed deep concern about the condition of the school and called for immediate intervention.

“The current state of our school is very bad. The building is deteriorating and unsafe for our children,” he said.
He noted that the school has played a vital role in shaping the lives of many people from the community and deserves urgent attention.
“We are calling on all old students, parents, and well-meaning Ghanaians to come to our aid. Kakumdo M/A Basic School gave many of us our start. Now it needs us,” he added.
Saint Akapo further appealed for support in the form of cement, roofing sheets, paint, building materials, and financial contributions to help restore the school to a safe and conducive learning environment.
“If you can support with cement, roofing, painting, or funds, please reach out. No amount is too small. Let us come together and save our school for future generations,” he appealed.
Community leaders and residents hope that their call will attract the attention of the government, non-governmental organizations, old students, and benevolent individuals willing to support the renovation project and improve educational conditions for the children of Kakumdo and surrounding communities within the Cape Coast Metropolitan Assembly.
