Black Stars Set To Open Camp September 1 Ahead Of World Cup Qualifiers

The Ghana Black Stars will officially open their training camp in Accra on Monday, September 1, 2025, as they prepare for the crucial 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying matches against Chad and Mali.

The team will train at the Accra Sports Stadium on Monday and Tuesday, before departing for N’Djamena, Chad, on Tuesday evening to face the host nation on Thursday, September 4, 2025, at Stade Olympique Maréchal Idriss Déby Itno.

Following the away fixture, the Black Stars will return to Ghana to host Mali on Monday, September 8, 2025, at the Accra Sports Stadium. These back-to-back fixtures are seen as critical for Ghana’s chances of qualifying for the 2026 World Cup.

Ghana currently leads Group I with 15 points, holding a three-point advantage over second-placed Comoros and five points over third-placed Madagascar. The team has recorded five wins and one loss from six matches, underscoring their strong position in the group.

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has confirmed that all players are expected to report to camp between Sunday, August 31, and Monday, September 1, to begin preparations under the watch of the coaching staff.
