Cape Coast, Ghana – Madam Betty Adwoa Nyantakyiwaa  Kwaako, popularly known as “Bank”, from the Agona West Constituency has called on all aspirants in the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Central Regional executive elections to desist from engaging in camp or team politics, saying such practices create unnecessary divisions within the party.

Madam Betty Adwoa Nyantakyiwaa Kwaako, popularly known as “Bank”, made the appeal at the NPP Central Regional Office in Cape Coast after picking up her nomination forms to contest for the position of Second Vice Chairperson.

Speaking to the media, she noted that aspirants should campaign on their vision, competence and commitment to the party instead of aligning themselves with camps or factions.

According to her, if an aspirant wins through the support of a particular camp or team, it becomes difficult to work effectively with executives who belong to other camps.

She questioned, “If you win from your camp or team and later have to work with a chairman or other executives from different camps, how can you effectively work together? After the elections, people start calling for reconciliation, but that situation can be avoided if we avoid camp politics from the beginning.”

Madam Betty Adwoa Nyantakyiwaa Kwaako, popularly known as “Bank”, urged delegates to vote for candidates based on their leadership qualities and dedication to the growth of the party rather than factional interests.

She expressed confidence that unity among party members would strengthen the NPP in the Central Region and position it to reclaim political power.

She also pledged to work with every elected executive, irrespective of their affiliations during the campaign, if given the mandate as the party’s Second Vice Chairperson.
